Rural crime costs the UK £39.2 million in 2016 and is therefore a significant problem!
In 2016, saw an increase in Livestock theft and costs in excess of £2.2million so when it comes to rural crime, it’s important to think beyond theft cover for tools and machinery, but looking at livestock, vehicles and the massively increasing fly tipping and illegal waste for farmers .
Crime trends are difficult to predict and the rural sector has generally become an easier and more attractive target, according to Jelf Clark Thomson Agricultural Account Director Gary Christie.
