Clark Thomson’s Private Commercial Team will be attending, for the third year in a row, the SNIPEF Techday event taking place on Wednesday 2nd May at the Duke’s Suite, Hamilton Park Racecourse, Hamilton.
SNIPEF (Scottish & Northern Ireland Plumbing Employers’ Federation) is the trade association for plumbing and heating businesses based in Scotland and Northern Ireland. SNIPEF has just over 750 member firms employing over 3500 plumbers and 700 plumbing apprentices.
At the event SNIPEF will be hosting short business information sessions throughout the day, which aim to bring you up-to-date with your obligations in terms of new data protection legislation and to help you negotiate contracts. Sessions will last 20 minutes and will cover:
- Commercial and contracts: understanding contracts and exploring ways of mitigating risks
- GDPR: if you hold customer information you need to know how to prepare for the new General Data Protection Regulations coming in at the end of May
- Employment status claims: amidst the evolution of the ‘gig economy’, we’ll explore issues related to employment status and how this is determined.
- Approved certifier scheme: what is it and why should you consider joining?
